The Panopticon
The Panopticon was Jeremy Bentham’s idea for a revolutionary type of prison. The design allowed all prisoners of an institution to be observed by a single prison officer, without the inmates knowing whether or not they are being watched. The center of the Panopticon is a tower and like a eye it gazes at all the prisoners
